Process HAZOP Risk Assessment training course
Due to increased demand ARINT South Africa intends to conduct Process HAZOP Risk Assessment training courses in-house (customer premises) or at our offices in Centurion, Gauteng. The training will take place over a 5-day period and include practical workshops on a variety of hazard analysis techniques and educational videos. This Process HAZOP Risk Assessment course provides practical understanding of the overall process of Risk Management and where HAZOP fits in.
A process HAZard and OPerability study (HAZOP) is a structured and systematic examination of a complex planned or existing process or operation to identify and evaluate plant issues or challenges that may represent risks to personnel or equipment.
This evaluation process is in line with several regulations of the OHSAct and the MHSAct, such as the General Safety Regulations, MHI Regulations, Lead Regulations, Asbestos Regulations, and Hazardous Biological Agents Regulations.
The intention of performing a HAZOP is to review a project design to pick up design and engineering issues that may otherwise not have been found. The technique is based on breaking the overall complex design of the process into many simpler sections called 'nodes' which are then individually reviewed.
The course has a 12:1 student-to-instructor ratio for necessary coaching needed during the many workshops and will be taught by seasoned instructors who have conducted numerous HAZOP studies in various industries and in various parts of the world.
